I am Zefeng Li (李泽峰), a postdoctoral research associate at the Centre for Extragalactic Astronomy (CEA) at the Durham University. My research interests cover a wide range including chemical evolution, galaxy evolution, star formation, and interstellar medium. I am working on JELS-MUSE, a 231h MUSE large program that aims to mosaic the footprint of the JELS field, and KOCOON, a 60h KMOS program that observes 55 galaxies at cosmic noon.
I obtained my PhD degree at the Research School of Astronomy & Astrophysics (RSAA), Australian National University in 2023, where I was working on gas-phase metallicity correlations in galaxies. Before then I graduated from the Department of Astronomy, Peking University (PKU) in 2017. I visited the University of Arizona in 2016, during which time I was interested in quasar variabilities, and participated in the observation of Beijing-Arizona Sky Survey (BASS) and high-redshift quasar selection.
Before coming to Australia, I worked as an algorithm engineer at Cloudwalk in Shanghai. That is the place where I learn enterprise-class machine learning coding for the purpose of optical character recognition. My hometown is Taiyuan, the capital city in Shanxi, China and a place where noodles are fairly welcomed.
